Cronies

Snow Pond, NH -

Just wanted to point to this article by Bill Maher that mocks Bush's political philosophy as No Crony Left Behind and points to the idea that all of his policies stand to financially benefit some friend or relative. Specifically, he discusses the NCLB Act and the windfall it created for the standardized testing industry. As a former teacher embedded in the Holyoke Public Schools - Victim #1 of the NCLBullies in Massachusetts - I would have to agree. My take was that NCLB was merely a canard to get privatization into the main stream by way of education consultants. That's why I'm glad Bill Richardson goes out of his way at every event to say that he would get rid of it. What a crock.
